Winston-Salem, NC — Friends and acquaintances of identical twins Mandy and MacKenzie Hale are scrambling to find new distinguishing characteristics after both arrived on campus Wednesday sporting the same hairstyle.
“Hey…youuuu,” says everyone when they see one of the twins now.
The long, wavy brown hairstyle originally only belonged to MacKenzie. Now, without any warning, Mandy has apparently decided that she also wants MacKenzie’s long, wavy brown hair like some kind of selfish, hair-stealing demon. She didn’t even care about people enough to get highlights or part her hair on a different side.
“I just wanted to try something new,” said Mandy without any hint of irony. “I’ve always thought MacKenzie looked so good with her hairstyle, so I wanted to give it a shot, too.”
Extensive research done by looking at their faces has shown that the twins do not appear to have any unique beauty marks on their perfect freaking skin, which also pisses everyone off.
“It’s their responsibility to find a way for us to tell them apart,” complained a close friend of the twins who wished to remain anonymous. “I can’t be expected to know my friends well enough to pick up on subtle facial differences. That’s way too much to ask.”
“There’s another set of identical twins who lives on my hall,” said junior Josh Hughes. “At least one of them has a third arm sticking out of his shoulder, allowing everyone to easily tell him and his brother apart. But Mandy and MacKenzie? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.”
One student we spoke to claims to have discovered a discrepancy between the way the twins dress. He insists that one of them always wears white converse and that he has never seen her without them. After seeing Mandy and MacKenzie in the same room, both wearing white converse, we suspect that this student has merely seen one of the twins, over and over again.
